Each extra large wooden bowl measures 15.7 inches across, deep enough to toss a salad for eight people without anything escaping the rim. Neem wood is one of the most durable hardwoods used in traditional Indian crafts, naturally resistant to splitting and water damage, and it ages into a richer, deeper tone with use.

This handmade wooden salad bowl is part of a collaboration between Accompany and Sasha, a nonprofit fair trade network that supports over 5,000 craftspeople from marginalized communities across India. More than 70% of the Sasha artisans are women, and the cooperative has been preserving traditional Indian crafts and providing sustainable income to rural communities for decades.

The graphic triangle pattern is hand-painted in white onto the natural Neem wood, leaving the interior unfinished so the bowl can be used for food. Each bowl carries small variations in the pattern, which is how you know a human painted it.

This deep wooden salad bowl meets our Handmade, Fair Trade, Natural Materials, and Heritage Craft standards. The Neem wood is sustainably sourced, the artisans are paid fair wages within a verified fair trade cooperative, and the painting is done by hand using traditional techniques.

A Note on Branding
