Michaelle Barbor

The Roots of Our Ethos

We are a family-owned and woman-owned company, born out of the desire to make impactful, ethical choices in business and in life.

Michaelle, our founder, grew up in Haiti, a land where environmental neglect is too often exploited for political and personal gain.

It’s an island with majestic mountains but stripped of green, its soil suffering from unauthorized mining and its corners filled with plastic waste.

She’s witnessed firsthand the devastation caused by inequitable trade, substandard products, and unfair wages. Her experiences serve as the foundation of our ethical compass.

We don’t claim to be perfect. We’re all on this journey together, learning and growing each day. What we won’t compromise on, however, is our commitment to doing better.

Living through the consequences of ethical disregard has made it unacceptable for us to perpetuate these practices. Therefore, we rigorously question and verify our products and processes.

Aligned Values

Our focus is on aligning our business practices with artisans and suppliers who share our core values. While we don’t yet have a foolproof system for verification, we work diligently to ensure our values align with those of our partners.

We place a premium on products that are fair trade, women-owned, minority-owned, handmade, plastic-free, vegan, and sustainably made. If we ever find that these standards are not met, we are not afraid to part ways and seek better alternatives.

Family, Community, Future

Michaelle and Brandon wanted to create a small, family-run business, that reflects their understanding of the significance of community and the importance of paving a path for future generations.

Just as you aim to leave a better world for your little ones, so do they.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about who they are and what they stand for.

Together, let’s contribute to a more equitable and sustainable future.
